At Pudsey aim to educate and encourage a healthier life style in the children that attend our nursery to enhance their learning potential and to help them carry this forward into the wider community. We promote and embed healthy life long eating and life style habits.

Our cook is constantly revising her seasonal menu’s to ensure that it offers a nutritious and balanced diet. The menu can be found in the foyer and in the main hall there is a ‘Menu of the Day’ board for all parents to refer to.

All children are offered a selection of healthy cereals of a morning, a nutritious lunch (session Permitting) and a selection of healthy snacks of an afternoon.

It is your responsibility, as a parent to ensure you have correctly filled out the dietary needs forms when registering your child, should an allergy develop you must inform the nursery immediately in writing, this

As a nursery we have cut down on the serving of sweet products but on the rear occasion we may provide yoghurt or ice cream with our fruit in the summer to keep us cool and custard in the winter to keep us warm.

Please note that our afternoon snack is only a small meal to sustain your child until they get home after nursery, it is not intended to replace their evening meal.

The children also take part in the growing of our own vegetables in our little patch, we plant, observe and water the veg until it grows and when the time comes the children help dig them up, this is all part of our healthy option life style in Pudsey.

In 2011 Pudsey was won an Award for health promoting in the early years and are committed to expand on this.
